Statement: Cyberattack on the Website of the Coalition Against Transnational Repression in Germany

Deutsch ist unten

The Coalition Against Transnational Repression in Germany wishes to inform the public that its website is currently offline following a cybersecurity incident. We are actively working to restore full access and are conducting a thorough review to determine the nature and scope of the attack. As part of this process, we are assessing whether any personal data may have been affected. Should we identify any impact on individuals, those concerned will be notified directly.

The Coalition brings together more than 20 German and diaspora-led civil society organizations working to document, monitor, and respond to transnational repression. As a result, any disruption to the Coalition’s digital infrastructure affects not only a single website but also a broader network of organizations and communities engaged in defending fundamental rights and civic freedoms.

While the source and circumstances of the incident remain under investigation, we are deeply concerned by any attempt to disrupt access to information, interfere with the work of civil society organizations, or undermine efforts to support individuals and communities targeted by transnational repression.

The Coalition’s work continues uninterrupted. We remain committed to supporting targeted communities and ensuring continued access to information, advocacy, and platforms through which their voices can be heard.

We also encourage partners, supporters, and community members and relevant stakeholders to remain vigilant against potential phishing attempts or fraudulent communications that may seek to exploit the current situation and to rely only on information shared through the Coalition’s member organizations and official channels.
